Scent Work

Scent Work is a fun activity that allows dogs to use their incredible sense of smell to search for specific scents.

Dogs naturally love to sniff and investigate their environment. Scent Work turns that natural behaviour into a rewarding game where your dog learns to search, find and communicate what they've discovered.

It can be enjoyed as a fun enrichment activity or developed into more structured scent work, depending on what you and your dog enjoy.

Scent Work gives your dog a chance to do something they are naturally good at, use their nose.

Searching is mentally stimulating and can help build focus, confidence and problem-solving skills. It can also be a wonderful way to give dogs an outlet for their natural behaviours.

Most importantly, it's fun. Your dog gets to make choices, work things out and enjoy learning alongside you.

Scent Work is suitable for almost every dog.

It can be enjoyed by young dogs, older dogs and dogs of different breeds, sizes and abilities. Because the activity is based on searching rather than physical exercise, it can be a great option for dogs who don't enjoy or aren't suited to more physically demanding activities.

Scent Work can also be particularly rewarding for dogs who are easily distracted, lack confidence or simply love to sniff and explore.

You don't need a certain type of dog, just a dog who enjoys using their nose.
