I abide by the IMDT Code of Ethics

As an IMDT Accredited Dog Trainer, I am committed to following the IMDT Code of Ethics and to providing professional, ethical and force-free training.

• Force-free training I do not use physical punishment, intimidation or equipment designed to cause discomfort.

• Positive reinforcement I focus on rewarding behaviours we want to see and helping dogs succeed.

• The dog's welfare comes first Training should consider the individual dog's emotional and physical wellbeing.

• Respect and compassion I treat dogs and their people with patience, kindness and understanding.

• Evidence-based practice I use training principles supported by current science and ongoing professional education.

• Professional responsibility I work within my areas of expertise and refer to other qualified professionals when appropriate.

• Confidentiality and respect Your privacy and personal information are treated with care.

• Continued learning I continue to develop my knowledge through courses, workshops, seminars and professional education.
